Common Questions
What does a technology consultant actually do?
I help businesses make better technology decisions — what to build, what to buy, what to automate, and how to structure your tech for the next 2–3 years. It's part strategy, part architecture review, and part hands-on implementation guidance.
How is technology consulting different from just hiring a developer?
A developer executes on a spec. A technology consultant helps you figure out the right spec — and sometimes the right answer is not to build at all, or to use an off-the-shelf tool. I bring the perspective of someone who has shipped 50+ products across many industries.
Do you work with non-technical founders and business owners?
Yes — that is most of my client base. My job is to translate your business goals into clear technology decisions, explain trade-offs in plain language, and make sure the technical choices align with where your business is going.
What industries do you have experience in?
SaaS, fintech, healthtech, real estate, e-commerce, logistics, recruitment, professional services, and AI-first startups. The specific industry matters less than having the right technical judgment — good architecture principles apply broadly.
What does a typical engagement look like?
Most start with a 1–3 day strategy intensive — a deep review of your current tech, your goals, and your constraints. From there, you get a written roadmap and prioritized recommendations. Many clients then retain me monthly for ongoing advisory and implementation oversight.
